How lead fees work

Last updated October 22, 2026

CloseCall charges your business a flat fee per qualifying lead, set by your trade. There's no subscription and no listing fee. This page lists every fee, explains how we set them, and explains how they compare with the typical cost of a lead from Google Local Services Ads. Billing is governed by our Provider Terms; if anything here differs from them, the Provider Terms control.

Fees are per qualifying lead. * Typical Google Local Services Ads cost per lead for the trade, from published industry benchmarks as of October 22, 2026 ("no data" = no reliable benchmark). See "About the Google comparison" below.

** How each fee is set: the 15% rule, capped at 40% of Google. For every trade we work out two numbers and charge the lower one, never less than $10:

  • 15% rule: 15% of the trade's estimated average ticket, divided by the estimated number of leads it takes to land one paid job. That keeps your total lead cost for a typical paid job at about 15% of what the job pays.
  • 40% Google cap: 40% of the typical Google Local Services Ads cost per lead for the trade, rounded down.

That's why the percentage of Google differs by trade. Where jobs are big compared with Google's lead price, the 40% cap is lower, so the fee lands right at about 40%. Where jobs are smaller, the 15% rule is lower, so the fee lands well under 40%. Example, Plumbing: 15% of a ~$770 average ticket ÷ ~4.5 leads per paid job = ~$26, while 40% of Google's ~$63 = $25.20, so the fee is $25. Example, Locksmith: 15% of ~$200 ÷ ~2.7 leads = ~$11, under the 40% cap of $12.80, so the fee is $11. Tickets and leads per paid job are our estimates from public price guides and industry reports.

How we set each fee

  • Start from the job. We estimate the average ticket for the trade's emergency jobs and how many leads it typically takes to land one paid job. The fee is set so that the lead cost of a typical paid job comes to about 15% of the average ticket or less.
  • Capped at 40% of Google. No fee is more than 40% of the typical Google Local Services Ads cost per lead for that trade. For trades with no reliable Google benchmark, only the other rules apply.
  • $10 minimum. No trade's fee is below $10.
  • Reviewed about once a year. We update the estimates with newer data, including CloseCall's own call and booking data as it builds up. Fee changes are announced at least 30 days ahead and apply only to leads after that date (Provider Terms, section 7).

About the Google comparison

  • Google does not publish its Local Services Ads lead prices. Google says prices vary by location, job type, lead type, and bidding, and an advertiser's own prices appear only in their account.
  • The benchmarks above are averages we compiled from published reports by advertising and marketing companies that track Local Services Ads accounts (2025–2026). They are national averages, so costs in your area may differ, and some trades have limited data. They are estimates, not quotes.
  • Your actual Google costs may be higher or lower. A Google lead and a CloseCall lead are also counted differently: on CloseCall, a lead is a call where you and the customer are connected for 30 seconds or more. We don't promise any particular savings or number of jobs.
  • CloseCall is not affiliated with or endorsed by Google. Google and Google Local Services Ads are trademarks of Google LLC.

What you pay for, and when

  • Only qualifying leads. You're charged only when a call connected through CloseCall reaches 30 seconds. Calls you don't accept, or that end sooner, are free.
  • Founding offer. Businesses that sign up during our launch get their first 5 qualifying leads free.
  • Billed in batches. Fees add up on a running balance that's charged when it reaches the amount you choose: $100, $500, or $1,000.
  • Your trade's fee is shown when you sign up. Questions about a charge? support@joinclosecall.com
