CloseCall LLC ("CloseCall," "we," "us") runs joinclosecall.com, a service that connects people who need help with the closest local service providers. This policy explains what we collect, why, who sees it, and the choices you have. The short version: we use your information to connect you with a provider, we share only what's needed to do that, and we never sell your information.

1. What we collect

Customers:

  • Account details: name, email, phone number, and password (stored only as a secure hash).
  • Location for a search: the address you type, an address you save to your profile, or your device's location if you choose "Use my exact location."
  • Call activity: which provider you called, when, how long the call lasted, and whether you said the job was completed. Calls connected through CloseCall may be recorded (see section 4).
  • Reviews you write, and providers you save to your favorites.

Providers:

  • Business details: business name, contact name, email, phone, address, service area, hours, and description, and the same details for any additional shops you list.
  • Verification documents: government ID, proof of insurance, business license, and state trade license, and the license numbers on them. These are stored privately and seen only by CloseCall staff reviewing your application. To prevent duplicate or fake accounts, we compare license numbers, phone numbers, addresses, and owner names across businesses on CloseCall.
  • Photos and a logo you upload or import from your website.
  • Lead and billing records, including which driver each job was sent to.
  • Live location, only while you're marked available as a mobile provider and sharing it (see section 5).

Drivers (people a provider business adds to its account):

  • Name, mobile number, and password (stored only as a secure hash). The business enters your name and number; you set your password.
  • A photo of your driver's license or other ID, seen only by CloseCall staff approving you.
  • Live location, only while you're marked available and sharing it (see section 5).
  • The jobs sent to you, and whether you headed out, declined, or arrived.

Everyone: basic technical data our servers need to run the site and protect it from abuse, such as IP address and request times. We use only the cookies needed to keep you signed in. We don't use advertising cookies or sell data to ad networks.

2. How we use it

  • To find the closest available providers to the location you give us. Ranking is by distance; when several are about equally close (within 2 miles), the one that has had fewer recent CloseCall leads is listed first. Ratings, reviews, and payment never change the order.
  • To let a business send a job to one of its drivers, and to show the customer where that driver is while they're on the way.
  • To connect your call, and to send the call details and texts described in section 4.
  • To bill providers for qualifying leads and keep accurate records for disputes.
  • To verify providers before they appear in search.
  • To show verified reviews, which are only possible after a real completed job.
  • To send account emails such as password resets.
  • To prevent fraud, spam, and misuse of the service.

3. What we share, and with whom

Between a customer and a provider. Your phone number stays hidden from the provider while the call is connecting. Once a call reaches 30 seconds, it counts as a lead and we exchange details so you can reach each other directly:

  • The provider receives your phone number, the service address or location you gave, the type of job, and a Job ID.
  • The customer receives the provider's business name, photo, rating, a link to their profile, and their direct phone number.
  • If the business sends one of its drivers, that driver receives your name, phone number, the service address, and the type of job. When the driver taps "On my way," you receive a link showing the driver's first name, the business, where the driver is, and an estimated arrival time, until they arrive (see section 5).

Within a provider business. The business owner can see each of their drivers' live location while that driver is marked available, and the jobs sent to each driver.

Service providers that run CloseCall for us, only as needed to provide the service: website hosting and file storage (Vercel), our database (Neon), calling and text messaging (Twilio), email delivery (Resend, with Google as a backup), address lookups (the U.S. Census Bureau geocoder and Zippopotam.us), maps (OpenStreetMap map images and the Leaflet map library, loaded from unpkg.com, which receive your device's IP address when a map is shown), and Anthropic's Claude AI, which reads a provider's own public website when the provider asks us to import their listing details.

Legal reasons: when required by law, or to protect the safety and rights of our users or the public.

We do not sell or rent personal information, and we don't share it for anyone else's marketing.

4. Calls, recordings, and text messages

When you tap Call Now, CloseCall connects you and the provider through a CloseCall phone number, so neither side sees the other's number until the call qualifies. Calls connected through CloseCall may be recorded. Everyone on the call is told, and recordings are used only to verify leads, resolve disputes, and prevent abuse. Recordings are kept for up to 90 days unless they're needed longer for an open dispute.

Text messages. By tapping Call Now, customers agree to receive text messages from CloseCall about that request: the provider's contact details, a link to follow a driver who's on the way (if one is sent), and, a few hours later, a question about whether the job was completed. By creating a provider account, providers agree to receive texts from CloseCall with the details of each qualifying lead and reminders about jobs waiting for a driver. Drivers agree to receive texts about the jobs sent to them when they finish setting up their own sign-in; CloseCall doesn't text a driver before then. These texts are about service requests only, not marketing. Message frequency varies with how often you use CloseCall. Message and data rates may apply. Reply STOP to opt out at any time, or HELP for help. Opting out of texts doesn't delete your account.

We do not share mobile phone numbers or text-message consent with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes. Phone numbers are shared only as described in section 3, to connect a customer with the provider they called.

5. Live location

Mobile providers and their drivers can share their phone's location so customers can find the closest help and watch a driver on the way. Here's exactly how that works:

  • Only while available. Location is shared only while the provider or driver is marked available and has location sharing turned on. Going offline stops it, and so does closing the app or page: if no update arrives for 15 minutes, they're automatically set offline.
  • Latest position only. We keep only the most recent position and how accurate it is. Each update replaces the last one, and it's erased when they go offline. We don't keep a history of where anyone has been. If a position jumps impossibly far (a sign of a faked location), that jump may be noted in our security logs.
  • Who sees it. Customers searching see only how far away a provider is, never a map pin. The business owner sees their own drivers while they're available. A customer sees a driver's position only through the tracking link for their own job, after the driver taps "On my way."
  • Tracking links end. A tracking link stops showing a location once the driver arrives (within about 300 feet, or when they tap Arrived) or after 2 hours, whichever comes first. Anyone you share your link with can see the same thing until then, so keep it to yourself. The page never shows a street address.
  • We use live location only to rank providers by distance, to help a business dispatch its drivers, and for the customer's tracking link. We never sell it or use it for advertising.

6. How long we keep it

We keep account information while your account is open. Call, lead, and billing records are kept as long as we need them for billing, disputes, and our legal obligations. Live location is kept only as described in section 5. When a business removes a driver, we delete that driver's login and ID photo. To close your account, email us (see section 11). We'll delete or anonymize your personal information within 30 days, except records we're required to keep.

7. Security

Passwords are stored as one-way hashes. Provider verification documents and photos are kept in private storage that can't be reached by a public link. The site uses encrypted (HTTPS) connections and limits repeated sign-in attempts. No system is perfectly secure, but we work to protect your information and will notify you if a breach affects it, as the law requires.

8. Your choices and California privacy rights

  • You can view and update your account details on your profile or dashboard at any time.
  • You can remove a saved address, favorites, or uploaded photos yourself.
  • Providers and drivers can stop sharing location at any time by tapping Stop sharing or going offline.
  • Reply STOP to any CloseCall text to stop receiving texts.

If you live in California, you have the right to know what personal information we collect and how we use and share it; to request a copy of it; to ask us to correct or delete it; and not to be discriminated against for using these rights. We don't sell or share personal information for targeted advertising. To make a request, email support@joinclosecall.com. We'll confirm your identity, usually through the email on your account, before acting on it.

9. Children

CloseCall is for adults. You must be 18 or older to create an account, and we don't knowingly collect information from children under 13.

10. Changes to this policy

If we make important changes, we'll update the date at the top and, for significant changes, let account holders know by email or on the site.
